Arms* Sealed: quarterly, in the first quarter a mullet. The second and third quarters diapered lozengy with a small flower in each interstice. Suspended by a strap from a forked tree. Within a pointed quatrefoil panel, with small quatrefoils along the inner ged. This panel forms the center of a delicately traced double quatrefoil, which fills up the area of the seal, being enriched with small circular openings containing quatrefoil tracery, and other forms. On the tracery, four lozenge-shaped shields of arms are disposed saltire-wise: 1. a fess between two bars gemel (Badlesmere); 2. two lions passant in pale, over all a bend (Fitz Payn); 3. three chevrons (Clare); 4. three chevrons, in a chief a label of three points (Thomas de Clare).2
