Birth* Elnathan Griffith Griffin was born on 9 February 1725 at Rochester, Plymouth, MA.2,3,1
Marriage* He married Patience Burr, daughter of Jehu Burr and Sarah (?), on 26 November 1750 at Fairfield, Fairfield, CT, USA.4,5,1,6
Note* While his name in the marriage record was spelled "Griffin," he was in the will of Jehu Burr as "Griffith," showing that these were the same man. On 28 September 1757.7
(Witness) Will He witnessed the will of Jehu Burr on 28 September 1757 at Fairfield, CT; bequeathing his wife Sarah the use of his property as long as she remained a widow. He gave his son Jehu a tract of land on the west side of the Saugatuck River together with his grist mill. He gave his hill lot to his son Daniel. Daughter Comfort was given £20 and daughter Prudence £15. The rest of his estate went to his daughters except for a piece of land near the parsonage long lot. This he gave to his sons-in-law, Ebenezer Gilbert and Elnathan Griffith.8,7
Census* Elnathan Griffith Griffin appeared on the census of 1790 at Canaan, Columbia, NY; 1-0-2

Meaning 1 male over 16, 2 females in household. This probably means that wife Patience was still living and one of his daughters was still living in the household. Of course, it could be 2 daughters and his wife had died. There is no way of telling from the census.

He was recorded as "Griffin" just like in his marriage record to Patience Burr. It is recorded on the next page to the one which recorded Obadiah Pratt.9
Name Variation As of 1790, Elnathan Griffith Griffin was also styled Elnathan Griffin.9
Death* He died circa 1795 at Canaan, Columbia, NY.1
Baptism He witnessed the baptism of Elnathan Griffith Griffin on 17 November 1870.
