Note* Most of the Greene web sites list this "lost" Greene as the link between the Greenes of Dorset and the Greenes of Northampton. Moriarty considers this a doubtful conclusion. The evidence for the link is that John Greene Surgeon used the Greene arms and even put them on a letter to the crown in dealing with the affairs of the Roger Williams colony in Rhode Island. Moriarty scoffs that arms were commonly used falsely in those times. I'm not expert enough to say. I include the link, with this note that it isn't proven. -GEB.
