Cats, Cats, and More Cats

Description Details

Only two fabrics are used in this quilt, a solid "Amish" black and a color-graded fabric that moves from teal to purple to lilac. I fussy cut different areas of it to show cats of different colors. The pieced border (of my own design) shows the wide color ranges in the fabric.

Quilting

The black cats are quilted with a different pattern than the colored cats; this shows best from the back side. The thread outlining the cats is variegated cotton on the back and polyester top stiching thread on the front. The thread for the colored cats is polyester invisible on the front and back. The thread for the black cats is polyester top stiching thread on the front and polyester bobbin thread on the back. I learned from this quilt that polyester thread can be a true pleasure.
